I thought we should have a thread for welcoming new members to the Kill Spammers forum.

What We Do

Our goal at this forum is quite simply to be a thorn in the side of criminal spammers. They know that we don't want their junk emails. They know it full well because they've been told time and again. They insist on sending us their cons and schemes and scams, thus we will fight back with the means available to us.

Welcome!

If you would like, feel free to say hello and perhaps post some information about your skill set. For example, do you have an IT or systems administration background? Can you program? Do you maintain a spamtrap / honeypot?

Even if you don't have a technical background you can definitely help us. You can:

We're glad to have your help and support in making life more complicated for spammers.

Well, I've been here for a few months already, but I'll post some information about myself anyway just so people can get to know me a little better.

My name is Nick Perez, and I'm from New Jersey. I'm 17, a highschool dropout, and I'm starting college in the fall. I'm probably going to major in computer science. I don't specialize in any one area, but I've dabbled in pretty much every major programming language, graphic design, web design, computer-based audio production, and reverse-engineering web applications. Right now I'm focusing on learning graphics programming, and it's hard. I'd like to make a few innovative 2D games but I don't think I'm interested in that as a career.

I hate spammers, like everyone else here, and enjoy disrupting a dishonest and obtrusive business.

I always have to be logical and view every issue from both points of view though. The spam business is easy money and 99% of the time it just goes straight to the bulk folder to be ignored. So why fight against it? Because that doesn't make it right. But you know what would make it right? If spammers gave a good chunk of the money they're making to the people they're bothering. That would make it worth it to me to recieve spam. But they don't, because they don't care about you, but it's you that makes their business. And that is why they're scumbags.

I'm so new here I don't think the bits have cooled from the time I received the email until I confirmed and logged in. I think it's nice you ask about the members so I'll tell you a little about me.

I'm a retired IBM'er enjoying the beach. I still enjoy being on the internet and meeting people from all over the world. I'm married to an angel, have 4 kids and 12 grandkids, yet I'm a very young 52 at the time of this writing. My wife and I have his and her laptops and are often sitting right next to each other as we enter a game room together or family chat.

I dabble in web site creation, hoping to become rather good at it by designing the site for my community. I'm on the board of directors for my community and enjoy helping people emmensly! My wife and love meeting new people and rarely meet someone who doesn't become a friend. With one exception.

I HATE SPAM and the people who send it! They are nothing more than what birds leave behind on statues and freshly washed automobiles. I've tried to be polite with them. I've tried to reason with them. They are neither polite nor lack the intelligence to reason with anyone. They are purely selfish little helmet-heads left alone in the world, unsupervised because no one can stand to be around the selfish little pr.... must maintain composure.

I have much to learn about spammers and how to fight them. I'm eager to learn every possible tool that can be used against them and do my part to shut them down. My state allows me to sue a spammer, but the trick is to find them in my country. I know they are using Chinese servers, but I also know they are here.

My idea of fun one night was forwarding 500 plus spams back to a spammer that replied "yo momma" to my request to be removed. He said he was in China ... yeah right. They say that in China all the time! Dumb idiot. My mistake was thinking they might be a reputable pharmacy company and would honor the remove me. Their mistake was replying to me from their support email address, [email protected]. I sign him up for all the things he sends me, porn, viagra, mortgage loans, etc. After all, if he thinks I want it so bad he must really love it!

Looking forward to meeting folks and learning a lot from you!

Hi and welcome Blest Falcon,
I don't suppose I am the most technical or the most able to help you, but we need to start somewhere, so to get the ball rolling, let's have some more info.

First off, what kind of nuisance is this person causing?

What kind of system are you running and what is he intruding on, is it Windows or Linux based?

Why do you think he is not alone?

Do you have any evidence against him (eg logs)?

How many Teamspeak users are there, and is access controlled or can anyone join in? Are you hosting your own server, or are you paying for it?

OK those are my questions for now, let's see what we can do!

Howdy folks!

I just stumbled on to this site after reading a post on BroadbandReports.com about Spurminator.

I just *had* to join a forum that that a section titled "Kill Spammers!" :D I hate spam!

I hope to be able to contribute to the cause. Most of my work has been on the filtering side of things, so far.

By the way, why is this site called TheCarPCStore?

Welcome kpatz!

SiL is correct, we host this site. TheCarPCStore.com is one of my businesses.

About the time Blue Security was attacked by the spammers, I decided we needed a new home to organize and fight spam, and since we had plenty of storage and bandwidth, I setup these forums for everyone to use.

It hasn't been all fun and games - we were almost immediately victim of joe-jobs, and had to fight to keep these forums up and running, but have been successful.

I enjoy a good fight, and this one is just getting started

Hi!

I've been reading this forum since the day it was created - since the day BlueFrog went down and the Digg article about it boasted with new and improved hatred towards spammers.

I hate spam (doh)! I franticly report each and every spam I receive to Spamcop and Knujon (regular spam to [email protected] and stock spam to [email protected]) the second it falls into my inbox. I noticed a rise in picture spam (besides spam in general), therefore I decided it was time to finally join this forum and report those as Targets, since the domains I'm receiving are almost never reported here... and I also have a couple of other ideas

When I see all the excellent weapons this forum gave to spam fighters and how much it had become an enormous thorn in spammer's hairy and hemorrhoid ridden asses, I don't need any more reasons to join in and help as much as I can.

And... my message to spammers: We love to screw big time with your "bizinisss", knowing that is just a question of time before you get caught and sent to the place where you belong (read KyferEz's signature). It might take quite some time, but it will happen eventually.

Cheers!

Yet another newbie here... I've reported to SpamCop for quite a long time now, but I feel that it isn't effective enough. EDIT: Now I abandoned it, and I'm using KnujOn instead.

Actually I'm a bit mad: I took our secretary's former address to get more spam to report, deliberately. If I got any real email, I forwarded it to her (that diminished as the new address was circulated) and any spam I simply SpamCopped. Then I got fed up, and removed the address (I'm also in charge of email accounts, and I wasn't getting real mail anymore). Now I get only the amount that comes to the feedback address. EDIT: I've taken extra addresses again.

I tried to harness the expertise of HackThisSite, but they weren't interested. If you like, you can look: http://www.criticalsecurity.net/index.p ... topic=6529

So, could it be that I finally found soulmates?

EDIT: I changed my avatar, as the author of "Kiroileva siili" (Expletive Hedgehog) comics offered them for public use. Spammers make me swear, and I hope that soon they'll feel my spines.

Hey!

Another Anti-Spam Activist here who saw the article on dslreports.

I just HAD to get involved.

I'm making sure that each spammer who sends me their junk gets a least a *few* orders for his trouble.

:D

Hi all

I found this site from postings on web.tebweb.com

Great to know there are others out there that hate these scum as much as I do.

I'm a long time spam hater. I use variously castlecops, spamcop, knujon, direct complaints to registrars/ISPs, (manual) fake orders depending on how I feel.

I believe that if only everyone reported spam sites we would get them on the run.

I seem to be losing the battle a bit recently or the spammers are upping their output(?), so thought I might have a look at some of the little toys you have on offer and see what effect they have and add them to the arsenal.

I'm a bit rusty technically these days so hope they are fairly easy to use
