In a radical move which could see the unseating of every official currently working within ICANN, a US Senator has proposed a total change in the organization's philosophies.

Senator Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, as written to the US Department of Commerce with a gob-smacking breath-taking innovative startegy that has the whole of ICANN in a tail-spin to surely end in its ultimate demise. Ron has proposed that ICANN should be "subject to the same financial-disclosure, ethics or conflict-of-interest rules as executive leadership at federal agencies or in Congress,"

If ethics were suddenly introduced into the halls of ICANN, the learning curve would be so steep that industry pundits have suggested that they would have to close down all of their operations for 3 months until decades of past behavior have been unlearned, and this bold new philosophy has been supplanted. As Flam Hipkins of South Dakota opined in his obscured blog on Friday night: "It would be quicker and cleaner to sack the lot and turn the operations of ICANN over to a fresh band of newcomers who have grown up in a culture of ethics."
