Every time I see that same one-long-page layout with its frequent use of bold and red text, I instantly think: scam.

So many "make your own solar power cell" / pyramid scheme / lose weight now with no exercise / etc. scam uses this layout.

Just a stupid, stupid setup.

Note: this page also refers to the other get-rich-quick sites I just mentioned, and said that they offer "The exact formula you find in every worthless $47 e-book."

There's an alleged "hidden" link which tells you that you have "fount" the hidden $100 that site has offered to send you  and that you'll be charged $197 for

You discover that the final price is actually a whopping $535.96 for (guess what?) a pdf file.

When you visit the tinyurl link they provide (which can be reported of course):

http://tinyurl.com/3qx9uy

Which redirects to:

https://usd.swreg.org/cgi-bin/s.cgi?s=45163&p=45163-17&v=0&d=0&q=1

That should be plenty to report this scam.

I got sent the usual submit your details and win a prize spam yesterday. For a change it was competition based and the competition was to see how fast you could submit your name and email address with no real effort put into the site beyond stating this and the submit form. The best, and least comprehensible part, was they actually had a leaderboard filled with submitted 'winners'. I did VERY well on account of how me can type good - http://www.flickr.com/photos/97717414@N00/5249378258/ . I wonder what my prize will be, other than an IP block every twenty minutes that is.

Had you known they were that stupid, you could have chosen a user name like, "Ha, ha, your identity has just been stolen!" for the edification of all the people who couldn't beat you in the competition.

Can't beat me now, all the timings are at 0.000 although typing accuracy has dropped off a bit (lot) feel free to join in as it isn't dead (yet) and due to my slightly obsessive nature I'm not anywhere near done with it yet - http://www.flickr.com/photos/97717414@N00/5250073955/ .

Check out the terms and conditions:
Quote:
4. Determination of winners
The prizes displayed on the website will be drawn by lot among all participants. All prizes shown on this website are subject to various prize draws.
5. Notification of the winners
FullPageAds shall take steps to notify the winner of the relevant prize draw by email as well as by telephone if necessary. Notwithstanding the foregoing FullPageAds shall not be obliged to take any particular steps to notify the winner of the relevant prize draw but will take such steps as it considers appropriate at its sole discretion. In the event that FullPageAds is not able to contact the first randomly chosen winner within 14 (fourteen) days of the prize draw having taken place FullPageAds shall, at its sole discretion and without there being any requirement for any further notice to be provided, be entitled to cancel the prize draw that has taken place and withdraw the prize which shall be forfeited by the first randomly chosen winner and a further prize draw shall then take place in which the prize shall be re-drawn.

So, they will draw a winner for the advertised prize, but they don't have to tell him he won if they don't feel like it, and if he doesn't claim the prize he doesn't know he won, they can change prizes and have a different drawing. (And the other prize will probably be a discount on whatever overpriced goods they're actually trying to sell.)
